Roll Production Process
In the metal processing industry, the selection of roll material is a complex matter.
First, we must understand one principle: choosing a material is essentially choosing hardness. Higher hardness means better wear resistance, but potentially lower toughness; lower hardness, while improving toughness, reduces wear resistance. Therefore, choosing the appropriate hardness is crucial.
For rolling soft copper and aluminum materials: YG6 material is the best choice. Its hardness is as high as 91-92, producing a bright, non-stick finish. Using rolls made of this material will definitely provide a smooth and efficient rolling process.
For high-carbon steel materials that are difficult to roll: For these challenging materials, YG8N or YG11 are necessary. While their hardness is slightly lower, their high-temperature resistance and wear resistance are excellent. They will safeguard your work during the difficult rolling process of high-carbon steel.
For ordinary rolling tasks, a standard rolling mill is sufficient. It is economical and meets basic rolling requirements.
New Lead Rolling: If you are rolling new lead, YG20 is your best choice. It can prevent crushing, making the rolling process smoother.
Precious Metal Rolling (Gold and Silver): For rolling precious metals such as gold and silver, YG3X is your first choice. It can make the rolled metal surface smooth as a mirror, showcasing an extremely high level of craftsmanship.
